The First Noël - Christmas, Vol. 1

Join trombonist Peter Steiner and pianist/organist Constanze Hochwartner in their journey through some of their favorite Christmas music.
The First Noël pairs all time favorites such as “Stille Nacht” (Silent Night) and “Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen” with traditional folk songs including “Es wird scho’ glei Dumpa” and “Andachtsjodler”.
A major portion of this album consists of works originally composed by Johann Sebastian Bach; “Air” from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D-Major BWV 1068, “Jesus bleibet meine Freude” from Cantata BWV 147, “Arioso” from Cantata BWV 156 and Charles Gounod’s “Ave Maria” (After Prelude In C Major, BWV 846).
In addition to traditional Christmas music this album features some modern favorites; “The First Noël”, “Joy to the World” and “Carol of the Bells”.
