Barbara Rektenwalds Jazztriokompositionen vermitteln emotional intensive und facettenreiche Stimmungen, holen uns ab und nehmen uns mit auf eine musikalische Reise, die von persönlichen Eindrücken und Begegnungen inspiriert ist.

Ihre musikalischen Partner - der ukrainische Kontrabassist Anton Zhukov am Kontrabass und der österreichische Schlagzeuger Gottfried Schnürl am Schlagzeug – ergänzen sich virtuos durch ihre feinsinnigen und harmonischen Improvisationen. Die argentinische Sängerin und Textautorin Maria Bisso bereichert den Sound des Ensembles durch die dem Tango eigene Wehmut und Lebensfreude.

Die stilistisch vielseitigen und ausdrucksstarken InterpretInnen starten ihre musikalische Reise in Österreich mit dem „Blue Danube Waltz“, machen mit „La Camargue“ Halt in Frankreich und in „Cotswolds“ in England, bevor sie sich mit „Buenos Aires Se Abre“ in die Vorstädte der argentinischen Metropole begeben. Mit dem Abschlusssong „Dobleim“ landen sie wieder in Österreich, mittendrin im Hier und Jetzt.

Right in the midst of inspiring impressions from around the world, right in the midst of life’s many facets, right in the midst of the jazzy musical language of Barbara Rektenwald – a language that often draws on classical music, pop, and world music, yet always remains true to itself.
Barbara Rektenwald’s jazz trio compositions convey emotionally intense and multifaceted moods, reaching out to us and taking us along on a musical journey inspired by personal impressions and encounters.
Her musical partners – Ukrainian double bassist Anton Zhukov and Austrian drummer Gottfried Schnürl – complement each other virtuously with their subtle and harmonious improvisations. Argentine singer and lyricist Maria Bisso enriches the ensemble’s sound with the wistfulness and joie de vivre so characteristic of tango.
These stylistically versatile and expressive performers embark on their musical journey in Austria with the Blue Danube Waltz, make a stop in France with La Camargue and in England with Cotswolds, before moving on with Buenos Aires Se Abre into the suburbs of the Argentine capital. With the closing song Dobleim, they return to Austria – right back to the here and now.
