Anita Cerquetti - A vocal Portrait

Von Anita Cerquetti (geb. 1931) wurden nur zwei kommerzielle Auf-nahmen von DECCA veröffentlicht. Das 1957 aufgenommene Arien-Recital sowie die 1957 eingespielte Gesamtaufnahme der Oper „La Gioconda“.Das DECCA-Recital beinhaltet mit Ausnahme der „Tosca“, einen Großteil ihrer berühmtesten Bühnen-Rollen. Für die RAI sang sie in Gesamtaufnahmen: 1955 „Vespri Siciliani“, 1956 „Oberon“, „Mosè“ und „Guglielmo Tell“ sowie 1957 „La Forza del Destino“ -aus denen für diese CD einige Titel ausgewählt wurden. Leider fehlen „Il Trovatore“, „Un Ballo in Maschera“ und „Don Carlo“, für die man auf Live-Mitschnitte zurückgreifen muss. Only two commercial recordings of Cerquetti (born 1931) were released, both of them by Decca: the recital of arias recorded in 1957 and a complete La gioconda recorded the same year. The Decca recital recording features most of her most famous stage-roles, with the exception of Tosca. For the RAI she sang in several complete recordings: 1955 I vespri siciliani, 1956 Oberon, Mosè and Guglielmo Tell as well as La forza del destino in 1957 - excerpts of which were selected for this CD. Unfortunately there are no studio recordings of Il trovatore, Un ballo in maschera or Don Carlo, which have been preserved only in recordings of live performances.
