Pot Se Deksel

The upbeat, catchy tune and meaningful lyrics of Zander Swanepoel’s second single – Pot se Deksel – promises to be a firm favourite at parties and on the dance floor. This single was just released and has already been playlisted on some of the country’s major radio stations. Pot se Deksel was written by Nicolaas (Nicky) Kleynhans and is about finding true love and appreciating what you have. “Everyone experiences heartache and breakups until the right person comes along to put your life back into perspective. The song is about holding on to that person and appreciating what you have,” says Zander about this very personal song. “Because I was lucky enough to find ‘the one’ myself, I am able to relate to the song and hope that it will appeal to listeners as well and that it will give them hope for the future and appreciation for the people in their lives.” Pot se Deksel follows in the footsteps of his debut single and music video, Voorwaarts, which was very well received and can still be heard on the radio. He also credits the release of his first single as one of the highlights of his career so far. The artist grew up in the Free State and currently resides in Pretoria with his wife and daughter. Although he has only been working in the music industry for two years, he grew up in a musical home and has been singing for as long as he can remember. “I have been singing in the church and choirs since I was a young boy and grew up with music in the house. At the moment, I am choirmaster of my church choir and part of a male music group, The Fellowship, which has several videos on YouTube,” shares the singer who also boasts a degree in Sports Science from the University of Pretoria and is currently studying to become a personal trainer. Zander has great appreciation for the talent of local artists such as Elandré, Roan Ash and Herman Kleinhans, as well as international acts like Jim Reeves, The Bee Gees, The Beatles, Smokie, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Calum Scott and Julia Zahra. He would also love to work with the likes of Karen Zoid, Theuns Jordaan, Mathys Roets and Jan Blohm someday. He describes himself as a perfectionist who is equally passionate about health and fitness than he is about music. When he is not busy singing, he is working on several business ideas, completing his studies, writing new music and planning his next music video. The music industry has taught Zander Swanepoel to never give up on his dreams and not to let setbacks get him down. He wants to conquer the hearts of local fans with his beautiful voice, compelling lyrics and unique sound. If Pot se Deksel is anything to go by, he is well on his way to achieve this goal.
