WISEMAN’S BIOGRAPHY
I Jermaine Lindsay (born December 9, 1989) better known as “Wiseman/Wisest/Jaywise” or simply “Wise”, is a Jamaican Reggae/Pop/Dancehall artiste who resides in Ocho Rios St, Ann. I was born and raised in the parish of St Mary but later relocated to St Ann where most of my musical works are done. I attended the Jeffrey Town All Age (now primary) school, and then transferred to Goshen Primary where I passed my Gsat exams and attended the Iona High School. I later attended a number of Tertiary institutions most notably, The University College of the Caribbean while being employed in a full time job. It was while at this institution that I finally decided to pursue a career in music full time.
I (Wiseman) began singing/dj-ing from a tender age. I started out by making remixes to popular hits of the 80’s and 90's and recorded them on cassette tapes. I wrote my first full song "Top a top" on the famous "fiesta riddim" while attending primary school. I did not write another full song until high school when I was asked to perform at a class party however, prior to that I made numerous verses for the purpose of “clashing”. I was held at a high regard by school mates and everyone who heard me performing. I was undefeated as a clash artist as both a “dj” and a rapper. During this time however, it was merely for fun as I was more interested in sports and healthcare.
Upon leaving high school I got more interested in music and began to “meds” and write more songs. I recorded my first song "faith in me" in 2008/09. During the same period I recorded a song titled "waan join the empire" in reference to the Vybz kartel led Portmore empire. I got great reviews from that song which was regularly played at local dances and parties. At this point my passion was still not for music but rather for football as I was a member of the Benfica Fc football club that played in the National Premier League. It was about 2015 when I decided to spend more time on music and do some proper recording. I began fantasizing about music and in September 2016 I decided to follow my dreams and haven’t looked back since. To date, I have released two (2) EPs. 1) The "So High EP" which is an independent project consisting of nine (9) tracks including songs such as "So High" with a video, "Black Cinderella", "Legendary" among others which have become favourites to many. The second EP is titled "Never Fail" and consists of five (5) tracks including the title track "Never Fail", " Hold Them Down" and "Your Light". This project was done with Yohannes Productions from Finland. I have also released a number of singles including "Jah Open Doors", "Baby Boo", "Party Time" , "Success" - a collaboration with TooTall and others (which are getting rotation on local and international radio). Other singles released includes "Brave Heart", "Afta 2am" and "Needle eye". All of these songs can be viewed on my YouTube and Sound cloud pages. My aim is to, through my music, heal the sick, feed the poor, motivate the demotivated and help to make this world a better place.
