Felicitation

Instrumentalists in Indian music have always tried to explore possibilities of incorporating vocal techniques and forms in their presentations, despite the challenges often posed by their individual instruments. The technique of santoor, a relatively new inclusion into the family of stringed instruments in Indian art music, has its own set of limitations, and yet, performers have attempted at circumventing these to allow a fuller representation of their creativity. Striving to overcome these limitations, Ulhas Bapat presents a variety of forms in this album, some of which are not usually heard in instrumental performances.
