US Heavy Metal supergroup from New York City around Blue Cheer members
THRASHER was a US Heavy Metal supergroup from New York City. Founded in 1983 they disbanded already in 1985 after recording one studio album at Music America Studios in NYC 1984.The band consisted of a list of very well known musicians, led by drum ace Carl Canedy, who also produced the album and later BLUE CHEER guitarist Andrew “Duck” MacDonald (formerly with a.o. The Rods). Also there were drummer Gary Driscoll (Rainbow, Elf), bassists Kenny Aaronson (HSAS), Billy Sheehan (Talas), Peter „Mars“ Cowling (Pat Travers Band), Gary Bordonaro (The Rods), guitarists Dan Spitz (Anthrax), Jack Starr (Virgin Steele), Kim Simmonds (Savoy Brown) and singers Brad Sinsel (TKO), Dan Beehler (Exciter), Rhett Forrester (Riot), Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer), James Rivera (Helstar, Vicious Rumors, Agent Steel), Jackie Kenyon, and female singers Maryann Scandiffio (Blacklace) and Leslie Dunn.The album was first released in 1985 entitled “Burning at the Speed of Life”. Right after the release, the project was disbanded.
