In honor of Dave Brubeck
Thomas Noettling studied jazz and classical piano in Vienna/Austria and now teaches at the Conservatory in Vienna...Live in Arnold Schönberg's home in Mödling/Lower Austria, he mainly presented his own compositions as a soloist. In honor of Dave Brubeck, who has influenced him greatly from the very beginning, Noettling played "It's a Raggy Waltz" at his concert.In addition to swing, there are ragtime and boogie elements in the interpretation.The playful handling of different time signatures and accent shifts resonates with the audience.Further recordings out of this concert are released on the album "The Reason of Joy" BT-Edition LC-96531 https://bt-edition.noettling.com
