When the Velvet Underground played three nights in Cleveland at the start of October 1968, founding member John Cale had just departed and Doug Yule had only been in the band for two days. Nonetheless, the revised quartet turned in a superb performance, including several then-unreleased songs (with alternate lyrics) and lots of notable guitar soloing, making it an essential document for VU devotees.
