The self-titled debut EP from UK Alternative Rock band “The Larches”

The Larches are a band formed in Teesside, England and have been playing as a five piece ever since early 2023. They draw influences from a plethora of bands, such as Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Black Flag, Korn, Acid Bath, Kyuss and Pantera, among many others. They have gigged around the Teesside area mostly, with places such as the Georgian Theatre, The Studio and The Bunker also housing them. The five-piece started off playing indie rock songs and covers by the likes of Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes, but are slowly moving to a heavier, more sludge/groove/stoner metal direction, although it may not be heard on their debut EP. The band started in late 2021 when bassist and former lead vocalist Alfie Murphy and drummer George Moss started playing indie rock covers in their school, later playing in Murphy’s shed. In the summer of 2022, they met Jack Gardener, becoming a three piece. Throughout the next 6 months, they cycled through several members, before settling upon Joel Hardwick and Noah Annandale at a local music event, each playing guitar and vocals respectively. They are currently working on writing heavier, more technically-intricate songs whilst growing their name outside of the North East of England.
