Dreaming Lately

The story: Tim’s university degree was Communication and International Business. Music was always a part of his life but was usually placed in the background in favor of other more “sensical” career paths. He moved to Austria to continue studying, but after a while the business studies didn’t seem to fit anymore, and he decided to interrupt them to pursue a career as a musician. For a time, everything seemed clear and easy, as there was only one path to head down and no plan B. For a time he felt free.

The song: “Dreaming Lately” is a contemplation over this time in Tim's life and his decision to change career paths. It is about wanting to feel free, needing to search for the right fit, and taking the chance to explore the dream though it might very well be a mirage. But most importantly, it is a song about cherishing the thought that freedom can sometimes feel so very close. Influences can be heard from the Future Islands, David Bowie, Arcade Fire, and LCD Soundsystem.
