The Dark Stars

„The world is not dark“ lautet der Titel eines Songs der DARK STARS und das könnte auch das heimliche Motto der Potsdamer Band sein. Denn mit ihrem innovativen und energiegeladenen Sound schaffen sie es, ihren Spaß an der Musik auch auf das Publikum zu übertragen. Die Stilrichtung der Jungs als reinen Rock zu beschreiben wäre zu einfach und würde den kreativen Kompositionen der Band nicht gerecht werden. Vielmehr verarbeiten René, Alex, Tim und Sebastian auch Einflüsse aus Pop, Jazz und Alternative in ihren Songs. Und das gelingt ihnen auf frische und einfallsreiche Weise. Ihren Namen haben die DARK STARS von John Carpenters Science-Fiction-Klassiker „Dark Star“ aus dem Jahr 1974. Im ersten Film des Kultregisseurs fliegen vier Astronauten in ihrem maroden Raumschiff durch das All bis es in einer rießigen Explosion zerstört wird. Ein ebenso großes Feuerwerk entfachen die Dark Stars mit ihren explosiven und eingängigen Sound. So ist es durchaus möglich, dass man schon bald zuallererst an die Band THE DARK STARS als an den Filmklassiker denkt. „the world is not dark“ – this songtitle of the upcoming band DARK STARS could also be her secret slogan. With her groundbreaking and dynamic sound they get the crowd. To describe their style only as rock, doesn´t satisfy. Their music is also influenced by jazz, pop and alternative elements. The four DARK STARS René, Alex, Sebastian und Tim manage to create a new sound-very free-spirited, very fresh. Why they´ve choosen DARK STARS as band name? It was inspired by John Carpenters Science-Fiction movie “Dark Star” of 1974: four astronauts discover the universe with their shabby space ship up to the moment when it is destroyed by a great explosion. The same great fireworks, rather on stage than in the endless wideness of the space, is sparked by the catchy and explosive songs of the guys. So in the future it could be possible that people first think of the band than of the film when they hear the name DARK STAR.
