Bats Go High

A freight train rolls up… and cannot be stopped!
In 2018 the first American Football Team was established in the East Bavarian Forest.
Since then the BATS have enjoyed a steadily growing fan base throughout the region.
It quickly became clear that the team needed an own suitable song for the entrance show at the gamedays.
The circumstances surely were forced by STEEL ENGRAVED’s lead singer Marco Schober, who was one of the founding members of the Bats Football Team.
BATS GO HIGH was written and arranged by Marco and the above-named band’s guitar player Andy Straehler. Both were working together on similar projects beside the band in the past.
The song was recorded, mixed and released at the brand new SOUNDFOREST record studio, which was established in the hometown of the Bats with its equal named record label. The production was engineered by its CEO Christian Wistl. Additional recordings were done by the band’s bassist Daniel Steckel. In the end it was mastered by Jan Vacik at Dreamsound Studios.
The president of the Bats himself, Ben Öttl, appears as a guest singer. The team forms the main part of all backing vocals which were recorded during a training session.
Florian Schneider, Free Safety / Returner, produced the music video to the song with his company TO - DOPE - ENTERTAINMENT. Unfortunately, the pandemic situation 2020 caused a significant delay in video production.
A really great surprise is the video appearance of the town’s mayor Karlheinz Roth on the drums. He is a drummer who already made music with Marco Schober in his very first band. And he regards himself as a great fan of the team. On top of that he remains true to his roots according to Heavy Metal music! This is not always a matter of course.
