Iinspired by the prominent Ukrainian poet Dmytro Pavlychko.
The wonderful poetry of the prominent Ukrainian poet Dmytro Pavlychko (1929 – 2023) inspired to compose "Four Seasons" for a capella choir. This work is based on Pavlychko's poem " Autumn | Osin’ " and is dedicated to Louk Appels.BIOPerformersThe Sophia Chamber Choir Kyiv made its 11th tour of various European countries this year. Under the leadership of artistic director Oleksii Shamritskyi, the Sophia choir has gained a certain reputation for its virtuoso singing, innovative programming and interpretation of a wide repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the present day. The Sophia Chamber Choir is an ambassador for Ukrainian culture in Europe and regularly participates in choir festivals and competitions such as the Beethoven Fest in Bonn. In 2023, the Sophia Chamber Choir Kyiv won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in Hungary.ComposerAlfred Momotenko-Levitsky is Ukraine-born - Dutch composer with an active career behind. Recently a new album of his choral works is released with Sigvards Kļava and the Latvian Radio Choir via Ondine/ Naxos of America.The blossoming of Momotenko's career had begun after working intensively with such conductors as Sigvards Kļava, Boudewijn Jansen (De Nationale Opera,Nederlands Kamerkoor), Vasily Petrenko (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), Igor Gruppman (former concertmaster and conductor of Rotterdam Philharmonic), Klaas Stok (o. a. NDR Vokalensemble), Benjamin Goodson and performing collectives such as het Groot Omroepkoor, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands National Youth Choirs, Escolania, Montserrat Spain, Latvian Radio Choir, Riga Cathedral Girls Choir Tiara, Regensburger Domspatzen and a list of others.
