Punk queen Siouxsie Sioux and her legendary band on a Juju tour live in Cologne
1980/81 meant heavy touring years for SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES. They supported one of their most successful albums “JuJu”, the follow up to the most successful “Kaleidoscope” 1980 album, with the hit singles “Happy House” and “Christine”. These were the times of their artistic and commercial breakthrough. “JuJu” was heavier, more guitar oriented. The 1980 and 1981, the German legs of which I had the pleasure to promote with my company “Scene Concerts” showed the band at their very peak. The shows were just fantastic! In 1980 with Robert Smith from the “Cure” darker and gloomier, with John McGeoch in 1981 much heavier. Dates were: July 4th, Luxemburg – Blue Note; 5th, Regensburg – RT Halle; 7th, Stuttgart _ Gustav Siegle House, 8th, Zurich/Switzerland – Volkshaus; 9th, Munich – Löwenbräukeller; 11th Essen – Aula der P.H.; 12th, Hamburg – Markthalle; 13th, Berlin – Metropol; 14th, Hannover – Rotation; 19th, Cologne – Sartory Säle.They blew the crowds away and rocked the house like never before. The line-up on this 1981 tour was Siouxsie – vocals; Budgie – drums; Steve Severn – bass; John McGeoch – guitars.
