Seine Schule „New Music Academy“ und die gleichnamige Video-Produktionsfirma sind inzwischen legendär. Der Lehrer Ralf Fiebelkorn ist nun schon seit 30 Jahren im Geschäft - doch den Musiker und Gitarristen Ralf Fiebelkorn kannten bislang nur wenige. Bis jetzt! In Zusammenarbeit mit den Studio-Legenden Marco Minnemann und Stu Hamm hat der gebürtige Frankfurter nun endlich sein erstes Solo-Werk veröffentlicht. Im eigenen Walterstein Studio, am Rande des Frankfurter Stadtwald entstand innerhalb eines Jahres eine vier Songs umfassende EP, die seine künstlerische Persönlichkeit klar auf den Punkt bringt.

Ein Titel sticht auf der der EP besonders heraus. Ralfs Interpretation des Gary Moore-Klassikers „The Loner“ strotzt geradezu von Expressivität und musikalischem Feingefühl. Warum gerade dieser Titel?

RF: „Zunächst einmal habe ich Gary Moore schon immer bewundert. Ich denke, er war Vorbild und Wegbereiter einer ganzen Generation von Gitarristen. Leider scheint er heute ein wenig in Vergessenheit zu geraten.
Dieses Cover ist meine Hommage an ihn, der am 06.02.21 nun schon seinen 10. Todestag hat. Daher fiel die Veröffentlichung der Single auch auf den 06.02.2021.
Der Titel meiner Wahl war „The Loner“, weil in diesem Stück alles zum Einsatz kommt, was eine mit Feeling gespielte Blues- und Rockgitarre ausmacht.
Bendig, Vibrato, Tremolo… im Prinzip die klassischen Techniken der Artikulation, die Gary wie kein anderer beherrschte.
Bei einem solchen Stück geht es nicht darum, irgendetwas „abzuliefern“. Vielmehr sehe ich es als ein Fenster, durch das ich mich selbst als Künstler ausdrücken kann.“

Und das ist Ralf mehr als gelungen.

Some call him the most famous (rock) guitar teacher in Germany. 
 His school "New Music Academy" and the video production company of the same name have become legendary. The teacher Ralf Fiebelkorn has now been in the business for 30 years - but the musician and guitarist Ralf Fiebelkorn knew until now only a few. Until now! In collaboration with studio legends Marco Minnemann and Stu Hamm, the Frankfurt native has finally released his first solo work. In his own Walterstein Studio, on the edge of Frankfurt's urban forest, a four-song EP was created within a year that clearly sums up his artistic personality. 
 
One track in particular stands out on the EP. Ralf's interpretation of the Gary Moore classic "The Loner" is bursting with expressivity and musical sensitivity. 
 
Why this title in particular?
Ralf: „First of all, I have always admired Gary Moore. I think he was a role model and pioneer for a whole generation of guitarists. Unfortunately, he seems to be a bit forgotten today. 
This cover is my homage to him, who has now already his 10th death anniversary on 06.02.21. Therefore, the release of the single also fell on 06.02.2021.
The title of my choice was "The Loner", because in this piece everything is used, what makes a blues and rock guitar played with feeling. 
Bendy, vibrato, tremolo... basically the classic techniques of articulation that Gary mastered like no other. A piece like this is not about "delivering" anything. Rather, I see it as a window through which I can express myself as an artist."
 
And Ralf has more than succeeded in doing that.
