Dealing with the Dead

Dealing With The Dead by Plan 9 is possibly the great unsung work of the 2nd psychedelic wave that swept around the early to mid 1980's. At a time when many where playing garage/r'n'b with varying degrees of success, Plan 9 put out a true psychedelic/garage record for the ages. None of their other releases really come close to this one. Very much worthy of your ears if not acquainted.


One of the BEST garage psych bands to come outta the Paisley Underground scene. It hit me like a KO punch when it first came out and this is how psychedelic music should sound like esp in the WIMPY 80s. Eric Stumpo does a good job at combining Doors-type tunes with a garage touch!

Heavy duty psycho garage rock. Eric Stumpo and band create a dense facsimile of an underground garage band from the 60's. Fuzz guitars and lots of swirling keys keep your ears buzzin' throughout this collection of classics. The band did a pretty damn good job of producing this themselves. The sound isn't muddy or has a totally tinny top end like most independent releases are. R.K. Sloan did the great cover and even added a comic book. "I Like Girls" is a fine rocker with some great fuzz guitar. "Dealing With the Dead" starts with some thunder and narration about the dead...there's some strange moaning in the background followed by 5 and a half minutes of _Rocky Erikson_ like ramblings. I love this stuff!

A bunch of ace songs hides out on this album!! Fun, very retro but well done. Bunch of good original and one Human Beinz cover.
