The most consumed vegetable in the world is the tomato. Inside there is a substance, which seems quite toxic, it is solanine, present in solanaceous plants, and in particular in potatoes, tomatoes and aubergines. The high ingestion of solanine causes nervous alterations such as drowsiness, hemolysis and irritation of the gastric mucosa.
