My Genesis

Born in Tembisa, the East of Johannesburg, South Africa this captivating musical talent invites the world to her jaw-dropping and inspirational journey of rich and soulful timbre sound through her forthcoming debut album titled “My Genesis”.
The multifaceted vocalist discovered her passion for singing during her childhood days when she sang lead in a church choir and performing for her friends on a veranda at her parent’s home, mimicking the likes of legendary South African icons Brenda Fassie, Rebecca Malope and Lebo Mathosa. In 2010 she received a stamp of approval for her strong vocal ability and stellar delivery in high school when she won School vs School Singing Competition which was broadcast on SABC 1’s popular youth entertainment TV program called Jam Alley. Fast forward to the year 2018 she met Label Executives Ayanda Kubheka and Kay Tiro and that meeting landed Ody Flames a record deal with Dv8 Records.
Ody Flames officially graced the pop music scene in 2019 under DV8 Records with the release of her distinct debut single titled “Lets get down” which is lifted off "My Genesis". This creation won her a loyal social media fan base.
She boasts a body of work that is created by an elite class of producers that have worked on some of the biggest culture-shifting projects, both locally and internationally. The team lists King Tiro, Alie Keys, Guffy Pilane, Bigboy Mkhize and Ash Ga 1. Integral to the potent combination is her Mentor, Ayanda Kubheka such credits assure Ody Flames of an honoured place in the highly contested industry.
Her second single titled “In it to win it" is a thick texture, vivace tempo of feel-good and sing-along composition born out of the yearning for inspiration and positivity after a tough few years of a covid-19 hit industry. “My Genesis” is a mood booster delivered in various languages including vernacular and showcases Ody Flames’ vocal ability and creativity as a recording and performing artist.
