El Drago milenario
The meeting of two Italian musicians takes shape through the dialogue betweenelectric bass and accordion, two instruments with strong individual identities thatfind a new and personal expressive space within the duo. From this encountercomes a collection of original compositions by Bruno and Bongianino. The recently formed duo brings together two musical paths shaped by extensiveexperience both live and in the studio, across a wide range of genres and musicallanguages. Over the years, both musicians have developed their work not only asinstrumentalists, but also as arrangers and session musicians, experiences thatnow come together in the musical approach of this project. The duo’s music is mainly rooted in jazz and folk, while also leaving room for pop, groove and psychedelic influences. The compositions move between morestructured sections and more open moments, always giving an important role tomelody, sound and the interaction between the two instruments. At times, the musicalso takes on a cinematic quality, leaving space for the listener’s own imagination.Improvisation plays an important role within the compositions: bass and accordionconstantly exchange roles, moving between accompaniment and melody andcreating different possibilities for musical dialogue. On selected tracks of the album, the duo is joined by Uruguayan percussionistAndrés Ticino, whose contribution enriches the music with additional textures andrhythmic possibilities.
