Cupido
The meeting of two Italian musicians takes shape through the dialogue between electric bass and accordion, two instruments with strong individual identities that find a new and personal expressive space within the duo. From this encounter comes a collection of original compositions by Bruno and Bongianino. The recently formed duo brings together two musical paths shaped by extensive experience both live and in the studio, across a wide range of genres and musical languages. Over the years, both musicians have developed their work not only as instrumentalists, but also as arrangers and session musicians, experiences that now come together in the musical approach of this project. The duo’s music is mainly rooted in jazz and folk, while also leaving room for pop, groove and psychedelic influences. The compositions move between more structured sections and more open moments, always giving an important role to melody, sound and the interaction between the two instruments. At times, the music also takes on a cinematic quality, leaving space for the listener’s own imagination.Improvisation plays an important role within the compositions: bass and accordion constantly exchange roles, moving between accompaniment and melody and creating different possibilities for musical dialogue. On selected tracks of the album, the duo is joined by Uruguayan percussionist Andrés Ticino, whose contribution enriches the music with additional textures and rhythmic possibilities
