Mucha Quartet Performs Slovak Composer
Composition for string quartet has a long and rich tradition in Slovak music. It continues to enjoy vivid interest today, due in no small part to the interpretative activity of ensembles among which the Mucha Quartet occupies a leading position. Alongside works by composers with exceptional experience in this field, such as Iris Szeghy and Jevgenij Iršai, the programme offers an intriguing confrontation with pieces by Milan Pala and Anton Jaro—both of whom are also active string players—as well as with biology-inspired quartet studies by Barbora Mišíková.
