Legendary MOUNTAIN show on the "Three Giants, One Tour" tour in Germany 1992
Back in 1992 three iconic bands of Rock n Roll history were separately touring Europe and Germany at the same time: BLUE CHEER (who lived in Germany then), MOUNTAIN and THE OUTLAWS.Their European tour promoter Roland Hofmann, yours truly, had the idea to combine all three of them for five stellar nights in Germany: Munich, Cologne, Bremen, Mainz and Neumarkt (near Nuremberg). The shows were an overwhelming success. So we have been trying to dig up recordings of this one Neumarkt show … for a good reason. As there, and only there and only once that audience was blessed to see a unique and never to be repeated event: there in Neumarkt/Bavaria and only there, one of the greatest Rock guitarists of all times joined the legendary OUTLAWS and Southern Rock legend Hughie Thomasson on stage to jam out on „Ghostriders“.We finally succeeded in finding a pretty poor quality crowd recording of this show. We took it to one of the very best mastering engineers in Europe, Eroc Ehrig, to restore it … and Eroc did magic, and now you can hear proper fantastic recordings of BLUE CHEER’S, MOUNTAIN’S and THE OUTLAWS‘ sets.So here are MOUNTAIN live in Neumarkt, Bavaria on May 3rd, 1992 – for its 30th anniversary. The great and generous Leslie West invited two of our tour managers to jam "Mississippi Queen" with him - Reinhold Keck on drums and Balbo Bojko on bass.Mountain's line-up wasRock guitar icon Leslie West (r.i.p.) – guit., voc.Ace Frehley’s guitar ace Richie Scarlet – bass (he played bass to pay his respect to Leslie)Paul Baretta - drumsSo that night the approx. 1,400 in the audience saw a stellar and unique performance, with the bands‘ crews and BLUE CHEER and OUTLAWS standing by flabbergasted and enthused.Very special thanks go to Norbert Mendel for giving us his tapes, to our brother Mickey Mulcahy, who was instrumental for this project and, last but not least, mastering genius Eroc Ehrig. Also available for download:BLUE CHEER – Three Giants, One Tour – Live in Germany in 1992THE OUTLAWS – Three Giants, One Tour – Live in Germany in 1992Sampler – BLUE CHEER / MOUNTAIN / OUTLAWS - Three Giants, One Tour – Live in Germany in 1992
