Mimi Verderame Quintet

Prova Records releases the new album ‘Wind’ of the Mimi Verderame Quintet. Mimi Verderame was 17 when he entered the wonderful world of jazz. He played together with master saxophonist Jacques PELZER. Immediately Mimi VERDERAME distinguished himself as an outstanding and talented musician.
His qualities put him in a central position in the jazz scene. Mimi Verderame played with: Steve HOUBEN, John RUOCCO, Toots THIELEMANS, Larry SCHNEIDER, Eef ALBERS, Gino LATTUCA, Fabrice ALLEMAN, Nathalie LORIERS, Philip CATHERINE, singer MAURANE, Philip Catherine, etc.... In 1996 he formed his own septet, the "JAZZ ADDICTION BAND".
In April '2000, the band released its first album, "NICE CAP" (LYRAE 200021-C).
JAZZ ADDICTION also won the '99 Nicolas Dor Prize for the best Belgian concert of the '99 edition of the Jazz à Liège Festival, awarded by the PAB/BAP, the Belgian Artistic Promotion of Sabam, the Belgian Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers. Mimi VERDERAME released another CD in September '99. Titled "Game Over", it was recorded with a quartet composed of Eric LEGNINI (piano), Bart DE NOLF (bass) and Italian alto sax player Rosario GIULIANI, who won the Europ' Jazz Contest in Hoeilaart. Note that Mimi VERDERAME is also an excellent guitar player. He can be heard on the "Hommage à René THOMAS" CD, on his JAZZ ADDICTION BAND CD "Nice Cap" and on his new CD “Wind”.
