Second Breath

After a long time of silence, Michel Bisceglia and his trio released a new album in the fall of 2003. 'Second Breath' is the long expected continuator of his debuut album 'About Stories feat. Randy Brecker & Bob Mintzer'. After the very favorable criticisms of the trio on it's debut album, Michel has decided that his trio will not profile with guest musicians on their second album. This trio masters an unmistakably own sound and style. This we can especially hear on their very own interpretation of 'Blue in Green' or on their own version of 'Ports of Amsterdam' from Jacques Brel. The trio is playing most of the time the own compositions of Michel Bisceglia. Just like on the debut album there are some remarkable compositions, which strongly limit themselves to a thematic line without form or harmony. These so-called 'prova' obtain their perfect structure and harmonious construction during playing and is therefore part of their collective improvisation. The Michel Bisceglia trio was founded in 1995. Michel is playing with Werner and Marc since he was playing with the German group 'Schetches' in 1991. With this band they recorded 2 cd's “Just Play, Don’t Ask” and “Power to the People” and they played at the greatest Jazz-festivals in Germany. The CD “Second Breath” is released on Michel Bisceglia’s own label PROVA RECORDS and is released in Benelux, United States and in Japan. Michel Bisceglia Trio played his first concert in the U.S. on June 7, 2004 on the Rochester Jazz Festival in NY. In november 2004 Michel Bisceglia trio worked with Dewey Redman an a new project assinged by the Motives Festival in Belgium. A week later the trio played with Dewey Redman on the biggest jazz festival in Guimarães in Portugal.
