Variations - Michael Linus Bock & Friends

On his solo CD "Variations", Michael Linus Bock presents an appealing and multifaceted compilation in 10 pieces in cooperation with his side projects "The Great 8" and "Die Höhen und Tiefen der Musik". There was even particularly prominent support for the three trombone octets: The Grammy Award winner and multiple Oscar nominee sound engineer Dennis Sands (Back to the Future, Men in Black, Godzilla, Night at the Museum, etc.) took care of the sound mixing. With words of praise from Conrad Pope: "(...) Variations is a delight to listen to. (...) I assure you that after hearing Michael on this CD you will be waiting anxiously for his next solo effort.”, Bock has another top-class supporter. Michael Linus Bock was born in Vienna in 1985. At the age of 16 he was accepted into preparatory studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. From 2010 he studied for a master's degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with bass trombonist Johann Ströcker of the Vienna Philharmonic. The Trombone Octet "The Great 8" was founded in March 2015 by Bock and his colleague Schnaitt. All are members of leading Austrian orchestras such as "The ORF Radio-Symphony Orchestra" and "The Niederösterreichische Tonkünstler-Orchestra" to name a few.
