MARISA SHOWS FANS WHO SHE REALLY IS WITH DEBUT SINGLE
If you are passionate about farm life, Marisa’s debut single, Plaasmeisiekind, is just for you! This laidback contemporary song, from her own pen, not only introduces this talented singer to local music lovers, but also showcases her skills as a songwriter and vocalist. “I grew up on a smallholding next to a farm. I enjoyed each moment of my childhood and still remember how much fun we had on the farm,” the singer explains. According to the musician, her husband recently bought a piece of land, and she is thankful and excited to be back on the farm. This was also the inspiration behind Plaasmeisiekind. “I think that people enjoy music that is authentic and sincere. This song is true to who I am and was written from the heart. There is a lot more where this came from. Songs of hope that were inspired by God and I cannot wait to share it with you,” she says. The music video was shot on a game farm in Derby by Johan van Vuuren of J&N Photography and Films and was also inspired by her own childhood. “We are five children and three of us were very close growing up. We did everything together. I was a tomboy who didn’t want to be excluded from the fun my brothers were having on the farm,” se remembers with a smile. “Plaasmeisiekind is a song that looks back to a time where the simplicity of life was still precious. Where having fun was not expensive and it was safe to play outside. Marisa is a versatile and talented artist who has been passionate about music since she was a little girl and sang along to her favourite music. She only started singing professionally about two years ago and reveals that she enjoys spending time in the studio to record her music. In addition to performing in church, she has also done a few functions and other events. Uplifting and inspiring people with her music, is her main objective and she has great admiration for artists who create meaningful lyrics like Riana Nel, Steve Hofmeyr, Taryn Lamb, Riaan Benadé, Demi Lee Moore and Theuns Jordaan. She would also love to collaborate with Appel someday. When she is not on stage, she enjoys being a wife and mother. She is also currently busy working on her debut album with producer Tjaart van der Walt. The music industry taught her to believe in herself and to give her best in everything she does. Listen up, because Plaasmeisiekind is definitely not something that you want to miss. It boasts a contemporary sound and sincere lyrics that will appeal to a broad fanbase.“I believe that people who share my passion will be able to relate to the lyrics, because they are proud Afrikaner children, just like me. Even if you have never lived on a farm, the song will make you feel like you are there with me,” she concludes.
