Maria Gstättner hat mit dem Jazz-Pianisten und Komponisten Stefan Heckel und Aziz Sahmaoui, bekannt als Percussionist und Sänger aus Joe Zawinuls „Syndicate“ ein sensibles und visionäres Ensemble gegründet. Eigenkompositionen und Improvisationen des Ensembles schöpfen aus dem melodischen Reichtum steirischer Volkslieder und nord-afrikanischer Musik. Maria Gstättner has founded a sensitive and visionary ensemble with jazz pianist and composer Stefan Heckel and Aziz Sahmaoui, known as a percussionist and singer from Joe Zawinul's ‘Syndicate’. The ensemble's original compositions and improvisations draw on the melodic richness of Styrian folk songs and North African music. The result is a completely new world of sound between the peaks of the Alps and the Atlas Mountains.
