Latin Spirit

The group was founded in summer 2012, and is the result of a long lasting affection for Latin Jazz of swiss guitarist Marcus Moser and has led him to the actual project « Latin Spirit ». Marcus played with many musicians like Marcos Fernandez (CU), Glenn Ferris (USA), Markus Ostfeld (DE) or swiss musicians such as Arnaud Francelet, Jan Galega Brönniman, Wolfgang Zwiauer, Bruno Amstad etc. He has already appeared at several jazz festivals worldwide : Havana CU, Stuttgart DE, Namur BE, Bern CH, Prague CK etc. Several tours have taken him all around Europe and lately also to the U.S. of America. His compositions reflect Afro-Cuban and Latin American culture in conjunction with European- and contemporary jazz. In addition to the structured material, cultivated and spontaneous interactions between the particpants leave open space for improvisations. David Brito (Venezuela) can claim huge success at European festivals with the Cuban singer Ylian Canizares. Even his excursions to classical music brougth him remarkable recognition. On drums Silvano Borzachiello (Italy). He has worked with stars like Franco Ambrosetti, Dado Moroni, Uri Caine, Steve Lacy, Reggie Johnson, Joe Diorio, Garrison Fewell, Gregory Burk, Roberta Gambarini, Paolino della Porta, Bebo Ferra, Attilio Zanchi, Marco Tamburini, Rosario Giuliani, Sandro Gibellini , etc. .. and has performed at numerous festivals around the world. Cosimo Lampis (USA) is working in Europe and the USA for the last 30 years and a member of many famous bands and artists such as Toad, Brainticket, David Bowie, Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Vivian Reed, Eddie Martinez (Tito Puente) Victor Mendoza, Joe Porcaro, Emil Richards, Lisa Hunt, Zucchero and many others. Cosimo has a strong interest in anthropology and world music. He played at numerous festivals around the world and studied in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Cuba (Conjunto Folklorico), where he enriched his knowledge about many different musical cultures. In December 2012, Marcus Moser took his combo to record a first CD. «LATIN SPIRIT» As a special guest he invited the Cuban star trumpet-player Juan Munguia (Irakere / CU).
