Super show live at Star Lake Amphitheatre in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania in 1997
Lyve from Steel Town is a live album by the 'post-plane crash' lineup of American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It has two discs; the last two tracks on the second disc are exclusive interviews with the band. The tracks were recorded at Star Lake Amphitheatre in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania (outside Pittsburgh), on July 15, 1997.Recorded during their 1997 tour, Lyve captures the latter-day incarnation of Lynyrd Skynyrd running through their biggest songs -- "That Smell," "Saturday Night Special," "What's Your Name," "Gimme Three Steps," "Sweet Home Alabama," "Free Bird," etc. -- plus a handful of recent numbers. The record is enjoyable -- the band is in good form and play with a fair amount of energy.Line-up:Johnny Van Zant – vocalsGary Rossington – lead, rhythm and slide guitarsLeon Wilkeson – bass, vocalsHughie Thomasson – lead, rhythm, slide and acoustic guitars; vocalsRickey Medlocke – lead, rhythm, slide and acoustic guitars; vocalsBilly Powell – piano, Hammond B3 organOwen Hale – drums and percussionDale Krantz Rossington – backing vocalsCarol Chase – backing vocals
