My Favourite Place EP

There has been enormous interest in South African artists of late and really coming to the forefront of what has been turned on and tuned into is a young gorgeous composer/singer Louise dos Santos. What is so very exciting for Louise is that this, her first recording My Favourite Place was snapped up by producers of the successful American TV series Nurse Jackie starring Edie Falco (of The Sopranos fame). Being discovered on Nurse Jackie has been an exciting experience for Louise and now with all the interest and excitement we are releasing her debut single My Favourite Place. At 3 years of age Louise already had an exceptional ear for music and started tinkling on the piano. It was a few years later that the music teacher accepted her as a piano student and during her school years took part in various music programs and competitions. Following her school years she studied Light Music (jazz piano) at the Pretoria College and for her final performance exam she had composed her own track “Sauce of the Flying Yellows” for which she got a grade A distinction. During her study years she joined a band Mechanical Jones as their keyboardist and composer. As well as performing and writing she has offered her talents to the music department of a highly rated private school near Johannesburg. Her music inspirations and influences are Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae and Norah Jones. Her favourite bands are Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, Kings of Leon and The Temper Trap. Louise was discovered by David Gresham, CEO of South Africa’s longest running independent record and publishing company. Also with great excitement My Favourite Place as been signed in the USA by BMG Chrysalis Publishing.
