tri-lingual project - SLO/IT/AT folk songs in contemporary pop arrangements
The tri-lingual project “rubato”, which is to combine
12 Slovenian, Friulian (upper Italy) and Carinthian (Austria)
folk songs in contemporary pop arrangements.
Europe grows together. Carinthia has two different language cultures lying close to it’s neigbours in the south, Slovenia and Italy. Friendship and respect are very important for cooperation and understanding of all the various cultures in close vicinity. Art-projects can help us on this journey to look for things in common.
Rubato contains traditional folk songs from the Slovenian, Friulan and Carinthian area in a
contemporary music style. There is one language in common - the language of music.
Based on tradtional folk songs from Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli the new interpretations are combined with sounds from other cultures. Many influences from singers and musicians all over the world, sounds and rhythms of other cultural regions like Zimbabwe, Mali and Ecuador do fit perfectly.
