Strongest blues rock output from Leslie West, did leave nochance for competitors

Possibly, the best solo album for the great man of MOUNTAIN!Man,the songs are fantastic and Leslie's versions are amazing! The guitar tone is astonishing,as usual....heavy,raw and fat, phenomenal! And his voice is better than ever!A very, very solid album from the first to the last track....
Leslie West and Co brought a fantastic good blues-based album called Guitarded. Everything is OK here, fine proportion between blues and hard rock, it even can be close to perfection product if you are in such things. The release starts off with very solid 'Allergic' and 'Solution' tracks, then comes the biggest 'Cross Cut Saw Blues'. The things to back off slightly with 'Stormy Monday' and 'Honky Tonk Woman', but the next bluesy 'Hang Me Out to Dry' is a pure die-for-level composition. The other material are also significant, although not filler-free, you need to listen it. Generally, the strongest blues rock output from Leslie West, that did not leave any chance for competitors.

The latest solo album from Leslie West is entitled "Guitarded". Taking the recordings from various sources, the album consists of new recordings of newer material alongside older songs. Of the newer songs there is "The Cell" which features former Rainbow/Deep Purple vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, and "Allergic" featuring Ten Years After bassist Leo Lyons. Leslie has also re-visited Mountain with a live recording of "Theme For An Imaginary Western" recorded live on the Night Of The Guitar tour at the end of the eighties. There are also special appearances from Aynsley Dunbar ("Crosscut Saw") Ian Gillan ("Hang Me Out To Dry") Gregg Allman ("If Heartaches Were Nickels") Poppa Chubby ("Stormy Monday") and former Uriah Heep, Colosseum and one time Mountain Bassist Mark Clarke ("Old Brown Shoe"). "Guitarded" is the latest in a long line of excellent albums from one of rock music's finest guitarists and will be welcomed not only by the large and dedicated Mountain fan base but also fans of well crafted and more importantly fans of well-played guitar led music.
