“KIN describes the traditional name of the sun in the Mayan culture. We are KIN. Children of the Sun” – this is how the band members of KIN describe themselves. The band consists of Florian Koller (voc.), Roland Reininger (git.), Philipp Mayer (drums) and Daniel Dobler (bass). KIN stands for pure and emotional rock with passion – made in Vorarlberg. All KIN members are experienced and dedicated musicians. KIN itself, has been around since 2009 when Roland Reininger and Florian Koller started to play music together as an acoustic duo. In May 2011 Philipp Mayer and Daniel Dobler joined the band and completed this creative constellation of music enthusiasts. The “Quartet Infernale” was completed. KIN is the coming together of two very experienced, dynamic an compatible duos. The beast was unleashed through the fusion of a melodic section on the one hand - and a rhythm section on the other. Together as one they claim a place in the rock-olymp! In the short period of time that the band has existed as a quartet they have already gotten much experience on stage. E.g. the biggest festival in Austria – NOVA ROCK, as a supporting act of SKUNK ANANSIE, THE SORROW, TROUBLE OVER TOKYO and many others. KIN knows how to entertain fans in front of the stage! It’s not easy to classify KIN’s style: progressive riffing and driving beats change fluidly into quiet, easy sections. Power rock meets Power ballad. KIN takes the audience on a journey through their interpretation of the rock universe – supported by soft but still powerful vocals. The songs tell stories full of love, revolution and life itself. KIN is Rock! Despite all these positive results and successes KIN is a very grounded band who fo- cus on their future. In 2012 the long awaited debut album will be unleashed and a new decade in the KIN history will begin – in accordance to the Maya calendar!
