Hope J is a Manchester based singer/songwriter. She has been playing piano and violin since a young age and, more recently, has been seeking to write songs that people can sing and really mean. Her debut release (entitled “I am His”) is a gospel ballad, with the melodic line seeking to reflect the flow of the lyrics throughout. It was inspired by a very well-known hymn (In Christ Alone – Getty and Townend). The overarching theme throughout is that once you are in Christ, nothing can change that fundamental truth of your identity.
About her single she says this: “The song journeys through my life before Jesus, my life with Jesus – with its ups and downs – and the certain hope that awaits when Jesus returns. The lyrics of this song are not only true of me, however, and I believe this can be sung wholeheartedly by all those who have had a personal encounter with Jesus. My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life and I want all my songs – whether overtly Christian, like this one, or ‘just’ secular – to reflect this worldview and to offer a hope that doesn’t fade. Sung truths are always necessary and I hope this song reaches those who need it.”
