Hell – Geteert & Gefedert
DJ Hell's debut album, Geteert & Gefedert, would more or less be forgotten in the wake of 1998's Munich Machine. Originally released on Disko B in 1994 and then reissued ten years later, the eight tracks that populate it fuse house, techno, and shades of EBM with mixed results. With the exception of ambient closer "Im Mutterleib," each track is a collaboration with a fellow producer. A trio of sleek, varied co-productions with Richard Bartz help hold up the album. The "cover" of Throbbing Gristle's "Hot on the Heels of Love" isn't nearly as sinister as the original, but it's a bracing track nonetheless. Somewhat amusingly, Hell appears on the album cover tarred and feathered, Fad Gadget style.
