Hans Theessink & Big Daddy Wilson Pay Day
Pay DayBoth Hans Theessink and Big Daddy Wilson love the music of the great Mississippi John Hurt and we got the title track Pay Day from him. Pay Day can have many meanings; the payment can be positive or negative: It can be the day that ole eagle flies, a time that you can party - or maybe it’s the day where you get rid of a nagging woman that you can’t get along with. It could also be the “last judgment” where you have to answer for your actions. We like the mystery and want to leave the interpretation open to the listener. For many, many years I’ve been wanting to work with Hans. So I am very happy and proud to record this Duo Album with him. It was one of the most beautiful experiences that I ever had as an artist. (Big Daddy Wilson).I really enjoyed singing and playing with Wilson - we had a ball. Wilson and I had picked songs for the session – some old, some new, some borrowed. We had lots of fun cooking up our special musical stew with all the natural ingredients, spices and flavors - enjoy! (Hans Theessink).
