Memoria

The third Hadal Sherpa album "Memoria" released December 5, 2025.

Memoria was recorded between 2021-2025 at our rehearsal place and home studios. During these long sessions we recorded a lot of songs and as there were also many different styles and moods within them, we did not think about releasing anything as soon as they got completed, but just moved on working with other songs as they came along.

Finally sometime around April 2025 all the recording was done and Vesa finalized the mixing and mastering of all these songs. We now also had a plan to release them as albums of focused individual themes. Void Weaver was the first of these albums to come out in May. This follow-up album was to be released at the end of 2025 and rest of the music sometime early 2026.

Memoria was going to be a sad themed album to begin with, but the unexpected death of our lead guitarist / multi-instrumentalist / composer Vesa Pasanen in July makes it also a release dedicated to his memory. We only had the working titles for the songs, as we usually came up with final song names closer to releasing album, so I decided to use the lyrics Vesa had written for the coda of the album as song titles. Some of the working titles of songs were already referring to those lyrics, so probably we would have selected some of these titles anyway. Final editing for this album was done with Max Laine, an old friend of the band who recorded our debut album in 2017 and also mixed it together with Vesa.
