Out of the box

Green Candy is a fresh new sound with a vintage feel in the increasingly demanding world of pop music. Well… in fact the world of pop music is not that demanding these days. With a bit of sampling and little effort one can already reach a high level of popularity on the web. It is Green Candy’s view that each song what they produce is genuine handcrafted on an original idea and that there should always be an ‘ear-opener’ in their songs. Before Green Candy the band members were already working together under different band names for about fifteen years now. The release "Green Candy - Out of the box" is the first well-polished real album they produce. It is recorded, mixed and mastered in the CatharijneStudios in Utrecht. It is worth-while noticing that almost all songs on the album were produced in a different way, using mainly analogue mastering, hence also the album title Out of the box. Some of the songs are lyric based, some are based on the rhythm and are danceable, others were created from only a melody line. All songs contribute to the musical rollercoaster that is called OUT OF THE BOX. Time to introduce the bandmembers (photos below from left to right): Brownheart – A open hearted person who is the singer/songwriter of the group and dedicated to the base. He is also the arty one within the group, which is logical given his art director background which influenced thousands. Brownheart also played significant parts of the drums and guitars on the album. His favourite phrase: “My music… I'm livin’ it”. Burn-ee – A spirited keyboard player who is always willing to lend his voice for backing vocals. Burn-ee is known for his technical skills and his patience. He took a leading role in producing the Green Candy album. Burn-ee has vast experience as sound engineer and has worked together with re-known Dutch producers and artists. Some of the percussion sections are also contributed by Burn-ee. Notable quote from Burn-ee: “I don't need money, I need equipment”. Whale/Starr – The conscious guitar player of the band who likes to add some vocal cords and stirs up the songs with fresh ideas. One of Whale’s sayings: “There's more crap out there than one human can sustain”. Using his writing skills, Whale has strongly contributed to the lyrics. Keeping songs consistent with some twists is Whale’s thing. He has many international connections and is especially dedicated to the southern hemisphere.
