Francois Jacobs has been working very hard over the past fifteen years to establish himself as an Afrikaans artist. His third single, Kan Nie Meer Wag, has just been released and promises to capture the hearts of dance enthusiasts from across the country.

Kan Nie Meer Wag, written by Emil Struwig, can be described as an upbeat Afrikaans pop song. It complements his soothing tone perfectly and will resonate with audiences of all ages.

“The song is about winning over someone’s heart - fighting with everything inside of you to convince that person that you are meant for each other and should not give up on the relationship,” says the singer. “I have always wanted to release an upbeat feelgood song. There are many love songs out there, but I wanted to make this one special and remind people that there is a perfect partner out there for everyone, regardless of your past.”

The track has an irresistible beat that will lure listeners to the dance floor. It also has a light-hearted and inspiring message, which makes it ideal for anyone who wants to let their hair down and enjoy themselves.

“Although I did not write it myself, the song spoke to me from the very beginning. I have also tried to win over someone’s heart without success. I would like everyone who listens to this to remember that there is someone out there who is waiting for them and looking forward to being a part of their lives, regardless of the hurt and bad relationships they have had in the past,” he says.

Kan Nie Meer Wag follows in the successful footsteps of his previous singles, Voel Hoe Ek Bewe and 10 000 Woorde, which were both very well received and reached the number one spot on Bosveld Stereo’s Afrikaans charts.

According to Francois, music has always been part of who he is. He is the youngest of seven children, could sing even before he could talk and has always enjoyed entertaining his friends and family.

The artist describes his music as energetic, classy and emotional and reveals that he draws inspiration for his lyrics from his own, as well as other people’s, experiences and emotions. Over the years, he has become a regular performer at some of the country’s most prestigious music events, including Aardklop, KKNK, Innibos and more.

Francois enjoys listening to a wide variety of music but lists as Elvis Presley as his biggest inspiration. He would also love to work with Monique Steyn if he ever got the opportunity.

The music industry has taught him to believe in himself, to never give up on his dreams and to handle criticism positively and gracefully. He still has many plans for the future and is currently working on a new single and music video.
