Formed in 2017, Floral Detectives are a female-fronted post-punk and alternative-rock band from Darlington, in the industrial North East of England.

Combining powerful, edgy guitars with commanding female vocals and a driving rhythm section, the band create urgent and memorable music rooted in punk attitude and alternative rock.

Floral Detectives return with their forthcoming single, **“Fight The Pain,”** taken from their new album, ***Smoke and Mirrors***.

Emotionally charged and uncompromising, “Fight The Pain” captures the band at their most focused. Cutting guitars, a powerful rhythm section and Vic Bainbridge’s distinctive lead vocal combine in a song about confronting struggle with resilience, defiance and determination.

The band features guitarist and vocalist **Bri Anthony, also known as Kid Chaos**. While still a teenager, Anthony learned his craft on the road with punk-rock legends Captain Sensible and The Damned. That experience continues to influence Floral Detectives’ combination of raw punk energy, accomplished musicianship and commitment to live performance.

Over the past four years, Floral Detectives have toured throughout the UK while developing a loyal following across Scandinavia. Their annual summer and winter Scandinavian headline tours have established them as an experienced international live act.

Their audience continues to grow through consistently strong releases and high-energy live shows. The band have received critical acclaim across the music and arts press, while their rapidly increasing streaming and social-media figures demonstrate a growing global appeal. Their audience spans a broad range of age groups, and their songs continue to receive support from rock and independent radio stations.

With ***Smoke and Mirrors***, Floral Detectives begin an exciting new chapter. The album builds on their post-punk foundations while taking their songwriting and production into darker, heavier and more ambitious territory. “Fight The Pain” provides the first taste of that progression: immediate, emotionally honest and unmistakably Floral Detectives.
