Favela Gold is back
Back in 2013 FAVELA GOLD released the last single from his album "Born Again". After the hit song “Life is such a Gift” "Meet me in the Backroom" was the prophetic name of the song, for that's where FAVELA disappeared to for the next 10 years and nobody knew exactly where he was. 10 years later, he plays best friend Liza a song he produced back then for a next album that never became one, and she just succinctly says, "You gotta put that out!"So FAVELA climbs into the attic, 10 years later and 20 pounds heavier, takes his old latex & leather costume out of the ark and squeezes his well-trained beer belly into it. Finally he wants to dance again. This is how the video for "Straight to Love" is created, which is equally a tribute to the Twist of the 60s and the dark Italo sound of the 80s. Nach dem Hit "Life is such a Gift" heißt der Song prophetisch "Meet me in the Backroom", denn dorthin verschwindet Favela auch für die nächsten 10 Jahre und niemand weiß genau, wo er steckt. 10 Jahre später spielt er Best Friend Liza einen Song vor, den er damals für ein nächstes Album produziert hat, das nie eines geworden ist und sie meint nur knapp: “Das musst du rausbringen!”Also klettert FAVELA auf den Speicher holt 10 Jahre später und 10 Kilo schwerer sein altes Lack & Leder Kostüm aus der Mottenkiste und zwängt seinen gut trainierten Waschbärbauch hinein. Denn er will endlich wieder dancen. So entsteht das Video zu "Straight to Love", das gleichermaßen eine Hommage an den Twist der 60er und Dark Italo Sound der 80er Jahre ist. FAVELA GOLD sitzt am Steuer in einer blitzenden Nacht, und bringt uns heim, Straight to Love. Bizarr, elektrisch, golden.
