Music from the quartet džeZZva from Murska Sobota coquettes with both, the tradition of theAmerican jazz culture with elements of European classical music, and the influences of popularand south European folk culture. Very sensible communication and distinguished performance offour refined musicians does an exquisite job persuading even the most demanding or wideaudience. Music from the džeZZva quartet, which consist of Dejan Berden (piano), Iztok Rodež(guitar), Tadej Kampl (double bass) and Miran Celec (drums), is based on their compositions, which sometimes include a hint of rearranged traditional songs. In their music, the quartetdistinguishably merges the sounds of the Panonic melos with the sounds of other cultures. Thecast has also managed to present themselves successfully abroad. This July, they performed onthe eminent French jazz festival Jazz à Vienne. The band stepped noticeably onto the Slovenian music scene with their debut album džeZZva.The album was selected in top 20 best records by RTV Slovenia music editors.
