Clearness

The džeZZva quartet from Murska Sobota are regulars on domestic and European concert stages. Their music is an interweaving of four musical individuals who developed their musical style through life and experience and combined it into a musical whole under the name džeZZva. They flirt with the tradition of American jazz culture with elements of European classical music as well as with the influences of popular and folk culture of the southern part of the European continent. The very sensitive communication and musicianship of four well-coordinated musicians convinces even the demanding and diverse crowd of listeners. They are developing a modern and very original artistic approach. The music of the džeZZva quartet, which consists of Dejan Berden (piano and synth), Iztok Rodež (guitars and soundscape), Tadej Kampl (electric bass and double bass) and Miran Celec (drums and percussion), is based on the original compositions of the band members, they flirt only partially with traditional compositions, arranging them in a special way and thus giving them a personal touch. The band is recognized and appreciated abroad as well. In July 2019, they performed at the eminent French jazz festival Jazz à Vienne. They entered the Slovenian music scene in 2014, with the debut album džeZZva. The album was ranked among the 20 best Slovenian records as selected by the music editors of RTV Slovena. They also released a recording of a concert from the Hidden Courtyard in Murska Sobota entitled Live From The Hidden Courtyard (2016) and in 2018 the album Sintur, which was ranked among the 30 best jazz albums in the region. They are recipients of the 2020 plaque for significant cultural achievements, awarded by the Murska Sobota Municipality.

Kvartet džeZZva iz Murske Sobote je stalnica na domačih in evropskih koncertnih odrih. Njihova glasba je preplet štirih glasbenih individuumov, ki svoj glasbeni slog razvijajo skozi življenje in izkušnje
ter ga združujejo v glasbeno celoto pod imenom džeZZva. Spogledujejo se tako s tradicijo ameriškejazz kulture z elementi evropske klasične glasbe kot tudi z vplivi popularne ter ljudske kulture južnega dela evropske celine. Zelo senzibilna komunikacija in muziciranje štirih uigranih glasbenikov prepriča še tako zahtevno in raznoliko množico poslušalcev. Razvijajo avtorsko moderen in zelo samosvoj umetniški pristop. Glasba kvarteta džeZZva, ki ga sestavljajo Dejan Berden (klavir in synth), Iztok Rodež (kitare in soundscape), Tadej Kampl (električni bas in kontrabas) in Miran Celec (bobni in perkusije), temelji na avtorskih skladbah članov skupine, le delno se spogledujejo s tradicionalnimi skladbami, ki jih aranžmajsko preuredijo na poseben način in jim na ta način dajo osebni pečat. Zasedba je prepoznana in cenjena tudi v tujini. Julija 2019 so nastopili na eminentnem francoskem jazz festivalu Jazz à Vienne.
