Lonley at the Top

Coming together in March 2025 and hailing from the North East England, Detonata band, made up of Donovan Johnson (Vocals), Joe Allison (Drums), Ryan Gibson (guitar), Forrest Devine (Bass) and Oliver Warrior (guitar) had a mutual love for both heavy rock and grunge. Inspirations range from the new wave of British heavy metal in the early 1980’s to Guns and Roses and Alice in chains, their debut single a power ballad ‘lonely at the top’ released on all major streaming platforms on October 2025.
The song is meant to signify a loneliness someone would feel when they are at the “top of their game” or “the best they’ve been” with use of an extended metaphor of climbing mountains to represent the distance someone may feel from everyone else in this scenario. Detonata ‘s high energy, high octane shows hope to help revive classic heavy rock with each members own influences thrown into the mix.
