CueStack releases first full lenght album "Diagnosis:Human"

CueStacks first full-length album "Diagnosis:Human" will be release on August 6th 2021. After their first three singles and their legendary EP with David Hasselhoff "Through the Night" this is the Debut Album of this unique two-man project!

„Our goal with Diagnosis:Human was disregarding genres, clichés, and sandboxes“, Martin says.
„We're breaking a lot of rules in the traditional metal sense: we don't have a drummer, we're a 2-man project, we use a lot of unusual electronic sample work – overall, we just love to experiment to find the right sonic atmosphere for each individual song“.

CueStack's Diagnosis:Human album features 11 tracks that take you through an audiovisual industrial/cyberpunk-esque journey – the artworks and music videos are just as much a part of CueStack as the music itself. „Every song usually starts with a story or mood we want to convey“, says Bernth. „Think a heavy version of Netflix' 'Black Mirror' – we love to explore technology both with our music and lyrics. Our first single 'Transhuman Generation' explores human augmentation and, as the title suggests, transhumanism – are we trying to find a cure for the human condition?“

While Bernth is known for his shred work on YouTube, he is all about sound and experimentation with this project. „Sometimes, you can't even differentiate between the guitar and synth effects. You'd be surprised how much guitar work is on this album that almost sounds like samples or other effects. The same goes for our vocals – it was so rewarding to explore all kinds of different approaches and colors to suit each song and message perfectly“.

The band started pre-production in 2018 and sketched out more than 30 songs. „The most difficult part was deciding which individual tracks to delete from the pre-production songs. Some of them had over 100 different layers and we had to drastically reduce the arrangements to make them work“, Martin says. „Our open-minded producer Daniel Fellner, who works with both Metal and Pop bands frequently, had the perfect attitude for making each song special and different.

We both can't stand listening to albums that sound exactly the same from start to finish.“Another interesting aspect of the album's creation is the amount of unique sample work that CueStack did together with the engineers and the producer. „We did most of the samples on our own and it ranged from recording small explosions, bow and arrow shots, banging on trash cans, and much more.“ says Bernth. „You can see the process in the music video for 'Stronger' – building entire drumkits and overlays out of these sounds was not only fun but really creative and different“.

About CueStack:

A typical day at the CueStack office usually ranges from building enormous lighting/special FX setups, animating and editing cinematic music videos, balancing electronic music elements and virtuosic guitar playing, or recording a viral metal hit song with David Hasselhoff.
When the worlds of eccentric lighting/VFX designer Martin Kames and shred guitar content creator Bernth Brodträger collide, explosive music and art manifest in the form of this two man music project. An unmistakable blend of metal and electronic music with well established sonic trademarks is the result, paired with an industrial, futuristic corporate identity that is ever-present in the band's signature music videos and artworks.
