Very rare recording of one of Boston's premier Blues Rock bands of the 60/70s

The COLWELL-WINFIELD BLUES BAND was formed in 1967 in Boston by Billy Colwell and Mike Winfield. Original members consisted of Billy Colwell (guitars), Mike Winfield (bass), Chuck Purro (drums), Charlie Sorrento (vocals, piano), Colin Tilton (tenor sax, flute), Jack Schroer (alto sax).
They released their first album in 1968 called “Cold Wind Blues” on Verve Records.
The COLWELL-WINFIELD BLUES BAND played almost exclusively at The Unicorn Coffee House and The Psychedelic Supermarket while in Boston and toured the US promoting their first album.
They were the opening act to Led Zeppelin’s first US concert as headliners in San Francisco’s Wintergarden. The COLWELL-WINFIELD BLUES BAND moved to Woodstock shortly after release of “Cold Wind Blues”.
When the original bad broke up in 1969, Chuck Purro, Colin Tilton and Jack Schroer joined Van Morrison.
Colwell and Winfield formed a new band and recorded another, this here “Live Bust”, in 1970 recorded at the Phoenix Coffee House. Chuck Purro was the only other original member to appear on it.
The band consisted of Billy Colwell, Mike Winfield, Chicago Bob, Mike Constantino and Les Lumley.

The first 8 tracks of this album were recorded live at The Phoenix Coffee House in Boston, 1970.
The bonus tracks are previously unreleased tracks recorded by the original line-up.
