16 Steps presents Coldfuture's stunning Plastic Voices EP

About The Release Here is an EP we are very excited about at 16 Steps. Southern California's 'Coldfuture' delivers three beautifully hypnotic and tightly-produced Techno tracks, all tried and tested on the dancefloor, with astonishing results! Plastic Voices, the title track for the EP is the deepest of the three, yet packed with energy and scattered with loose percussion, subtle vocal hits and dreamlike synth stabs. Old Skool-style strings and repetitive rides give the track a nostalgic quality. Stepping Out is driven by a deep, chugging bass that hits you from the start and runs throughout. This is complimented by discordant synth stabs and percussion awash with filtered delay. Tension rises with the addition of an off-key drone, which stays present throughout the short break. Wind Chime is the darkest of the three and should definitely be pulled out in later sets. Very sparse in texture, this track relies on intense, yet meticulously programmed reverb to fill up the frequencies. Full of percussive synths, discordant pads and heavy syncopated rides. About The Artist: Victor John (as he is also known) was the first of our online students back in 2008. Coldfuture was born in a moment of meditation with his machines. He began to yearn for the mysterious days of techno, when not everything was lights and glamor. The days when the ominous future was still ahead of us, and we hadn’t gotten so carelessly hopeful, so needlessly distracted. Coldfuture is a prophetic agent calling to post-apocalyptic times, a nuclear winter during which signal fires may be the only things giving off light amongst the snowy ash. He is both attracted and repelled by this forbidding, cold future. He is in love with, and afraid of the machines with their beautiful stainless alloy bodies and soul-less eyes. Coldfuture is currently being supported by Joel Mull, Alexi Delano, Sian, Brendon Moeller, Carlo Lio, Slam, Timo Maas, Oliver Klein, Paco Osuna, Tim Xavier, Chris Fortier, Mario Zar, John Selway and Dubfire
