Huanchaco

Buenos Aires / Huanchaco — Argentine singer-songwriter, music therapist and doula Clara Febré releases her new single “Huanchaco”, a warm, rhythmic tribute to the historic coastal town of Huanchaco in northern Peru.

Inspired by the daily life of this iconic fishing and surfing community, the song opens with the vivid image:

“El día comienza entre redes, totoras en el horizonte.
El plato del día se sirve entre chicha y tus ganas de surfear.”

In just a few lines, Febré captures the essence of Huanchaco: the ancient totora reed boats (caballitos de totora), the nets drying under the morning sun, the traditional chicha, and the irresistible pull of the Pacific waves that have made the town a global surfing destination.

“Huanchaco” continues Febré’s deeply personal songwriting style, already heard on previous releases such as “Versos entre paredes,” “Cuartito,” “Umbral” and “Dame Tiempo.” Known for blending indie-folk sensibility with Latin American poetic tradition, the artist turns lived experience into intimate, healing music. Having spent meaningful time in Huanchaco, she composed the song as an act of gratitude toward the place and its people.

The single is now available on all major streaming platforms.
