Pianist Cecilia Pillado presents her new album GIN-GER live recorded!
Release of 2nd movement of George Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F recorded live with pianist Cecilia Pillado as a soloist of the San Juan’s Symphonic Orchestra in Argentina. Conductor was Carlos Giraudo. This is part of Cecilia Pillado's new Album GIN-GER containing two of the most important concertos of the 20th century: the “Concert for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 Op. 28” by the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera and the “Piano Concerto in F major” This movement has a long winds and brass introduction in Blues-Style until the piano appears in a faster section, maybe with Ragtime-Reminiscences, building gradually until near the end. The movement ends in a peaceful, introspective cadence. The composer said about it: “The second movement has a poetic, nocturnal atmosphere which has come to be referred to as the American blues, but in a purer form”.Recorded live in the 90s, they could, today, be considered historical or landmark recordings without a doubt.
